Orange’s award winning producers are set to shine during the upcoming Orange F.O.O.D Week from 4th to 13th April.

Two of Orange’s producers have recently received recognition for the quality of their produce which will be on show during F.O.O.D Week.

Second Mouse Cheese Co. were awarded a gold medal and silver medal at the 2014 Sydney Royal Show with their Second Mouse Cheese Co Fetta (Gold, class 233) and Haloumi (silver, class 190).

In Melbourne, at the Royal Melbourne Fine Food Awards, Morganics Farm received two silver medals for their ‘Hard Neck Garlic’ and ‘Soft Neck Garlic’.

“The producers and growers in Orange and its surrounding regions are gaining recognition for the quality of their produce and these wins are just a sample of the awards coming into the region,” said Taste Orange Executive Officer, Rhonda Sear.

“These producers, and others from the region, are part of the excitement of the Orange F.O.O.D train, 100 Mile Dinner and the other 120 events held during F.O.O.D Week.  Whilst some of the major events are booked out, there are plenty of mid week events to come to.”

“The only way to secure tickets to FORAGE is via the Orange F.O.O.D Train.  FORAGE was one of the first events to sell out, so if anyone is still keen to come, then we’d suggest they look into the F.O.O.D Train which also includes meals and accommodation.”

After F.O.O.D Week, Orange continues the food theme, with the Orange Apple Festival taking place from the 9th to the 11th of May.

The annual Apple Festival celebrates the region’s history and strength in apple growing.  Dinners, tastings, art, fun runs and orchard tours will feature during the weekend.

In order to give potential visitors a taste of the region, Orange has released it latest guides. Comprising the ‘Food & Wine Guide’, ‘Dining Guide’ and ‘Accommodation, Wedding & Conference Guide’, the booklets detail the vibrancy, evolution and culture of dining, accommodation, wine and everything needed to make the most of a visit to the region.

The Festivals and the new guides can be found online at www.tasteorange.com.au
