In The Vines…Philip Shaw’s New Cellar Door

What a find in Orange! Located on Shiralee Road, which runs off Woodward Road, Philip Shaw is developing a fantastic new Cellar Door. This 47 hectare vineyard was planted by Philip Shaw and the family between 1988-89. The vineyard is picturesque, with elegant gardens and excellent 360-views of the rolling landscape. Drawing inspiration from the agricultural heritage of the Orange region, the property is breathtaking.

The Cellar Door has been open since October last year, with their Grand Opening held in early December. The gardens are now in the first stage, which will be completed by the end of June this year. All five stages of the gardens are due to be finished by June 2016.

The landscape design draws inspiration from the agricultural heritage of the region, showcasing a range of crops grown within the area including truffles, cherries, apples, hazelnuts and grapes. With a delicate focus on aesthetics, the gardens surrounding the cellar door buildings will be able to host a range of events.

During May, the Cellar Door has a guest chef; Josie Chapman from The Covenant at Borenore presenting a casual lunch with a variety of choice, including green pea soup, chicken and leek pie, Ploughman’s Lunch and a dessert plate.
