Lachy (centre) won two categories on the day.
Two weekends ago on Sunday 19th May, the Rice family travelled to St Ives in Sydney to complete in the woodchopping competition. It was a glorious day and the show was amazing.
Lachy (16 years) had a great day winning the 300mm open under handicap and the junior chop and being invited to chop in the open underhand championship, where everyone starts off the same mark of 3 seconds.
Only the top eight choppers are chosen to compete.
Younger brother Alex, (13 years) came second in the junior underhand and after galant effort placed third in the novice underhand.
The boys then competed together in their first ever double handed sawing competition. They came last, but learnt a lot and had great fun trying.
