Women’s Bowls Go From Triumph To Triumph

Canowindra played the 1st round of the No. 4 District Pennant against Cowra defeating them 49-31, winning both rinks and scoring the maximum 5 points.

Thanks to the Umpire Sharon Hubber and the raffle was won by Myrna Peterson (Cowra).

Canowindra played the 2nd and final round at home on Thursday 16th March with Cowra defeating Canowindra 39-21, however Canowindra was awarded the No. 4 Pennant as they had the highest winning score in the first round played at Cowra 49- 31.

District President Heather Hoad presented the winning Certificate to Bowls President Betty Jenkins.

They now compete in the Playoffs at West Dubbo Club commencing on Monday 29th May. Thanks to the Umpire Ron Bryant and Mark Wright for preparing a great green for us to play on. The Lucky No. was won by Bev. Bundy (Cowra), with No. 12.

 

On Thursday 16th March Canowindra played Cowra at Cowra in the 4th round of the No. 3 Pennant. Cowra defeating Canowindra with an aggregate of 63-25, winning both rinks and scoring the maxi- mum 5 points.

No bowls played on Tuesday due to the rain, so monthly meeting was held instead. The Lucky Draw was won by Diane Slattery with No. 22.

The points score for February was won by Margaret Gosper. A special thanks to our No. 4 Pennant Manager Jill Messenger.
Last Friday teams competed for prize money sponsored by greenkeepers David, Mark and Phil. The winner was the team of Steve Kirkman, Joyce Middleton and Marg Gosper. The runners up were the team of Gary and Julie Fairley and Ken Perry.

Last Sunday the third round of Men’s pennants was played. The No 5’s went down to Parkes Railway 9 points to 1 while the No 7’s won against Cowra 9 points to 1.
