Firstly I must correct an error I made in last week’s Bowls News, Jenny Middleton is a member of the Match Selection Committee not the Social Committee.
The winners of the District were the Cowra team of Joan Bailey, Judith Day, Leila Burns and Nada Kurta. The Canowindra team of Nancy Morrow, Deanna Noble, Gwen Haydon and Colleen Crump also competed in the District Senior Fours.
Four matches were played in the Club Pairs on Tuesday 11th August. Betty Jen- kins and Dianne Mooney defeated Jill Messenger and Colleen Crump 14-13. Libby Balcombe and Joyce Middleton defeated Liz Thornberry and Gwen Haydon 21-12. Daph Bryant and Christine Pickard defeated Leanne Stevenson and Sandy McDonald 24-9. Nancy Morrow and Deanna Noble defeated Sharon Wynn and Radka Tatterson (sub for Diane Slattery) 22-12.
There was one game of social bowls played. Shirley Robson, Pauline Carroll and Jenny Middleton defeated Linda Miller, Jeanette Wheeldon and Marion Wilson 23-9.
Our monthly meeting will be held after bowls on Tuesday 18th August. The following matches in the Club Pairs are drawn to be played on Tuesday, 18th August. Nancy Morrow and Deanna Noble v Marion Wilson and Jenny Middleton. Betty Jenkins and Dianne Mooney v Libby Balcombe and Gwen Haydon.
