Women’s Bowls
The final of the District Pairs played last Wednesday 20th April was won by Maree Grant and Pat Coonan (Parkes) who defeated Lea Tanks and Tracey Dixon (Parkes Railway Diggers) 20-16. There was an error in the result of the District Senior Pairs, it should have read Ruby Fogg & Ivy Fogg (Cowra) defeated Ellen Petty and Deanna Noble 19-17.
Ellen and Deanna played a great game, apologies for the error. Major Singles result from 26th April – 3rd round – Margaret Gosper defeated Jill Messenger. There were three games of social triples played. Linda Miller, Moyna Rue and Heather Hoad had a 9 all draw against Pauline Carroll, Shirley Robson and Nancy Morrow. Diane Slattery, Deanna Noble and Sandy McDonald defeated Daph Bryant, Joice McNaught and Dianne Mooney 23-9. Bobbie Turner, Ellen Petty and Colleen Crump defeated Radka Tatterson, Jenny Middleton and Christine Pickard 12-11.
MEN’S BOWLS
On Saturday a minor triples game was played with Ron Brooks, Phil Sargent and Bob Bates against Jarrod Breen and Ken and Steve Fisher. Although Steve’s team led throughout the ending score was close with Steve’s team winning 19-17. On Sunday 14 bowlers played mixed mufti bowls with the winning team being Shirley, Steve and Nigel.
Sunday 1st May will be the sixth and final round of pennants. No 4’s will play Forbes at home. Teams are; R Traves, D Beath, J Preston and P Taylor. B Webb, B Lees, C Webb and G Wilson. M Lawrence, V Mirto, M Wright and D Byrne. No 7’s play Cowra at Cowra teams are; M McMullen, K Perry, M Cramp, R Robson. I Nelder, S Kirkman, R Brooks and B Rose. B Bates, N Delaney, N Knight and C Balcombe.
