What’s On In Cabonne For Aussie Day

23 January, 2014 By Canowindra Phoenix Editor

The focus will be on Aussie entertainment, barbecues and poolside fun when Australia Day activities are held throughout Cabonne Shire next week.

Cabonne’s Australia Day ambassadors, authors and actors Judy Nunn and Bruce Venables, will participate in ceremonies at Mullion Creek, Cargo and Canowindra where Citizens of the Year, Young Citizens of the Year and Community Groups of the Year will be announced.

Australia Day will also be celebrated at Borenore, Cudal, Cumnock, Eugowra, Manildra, Molong and Yeoval, with events ranging from pool parties to family barbecues and award presentations.

One of Australia’s best known stage and screen actors, particularly after her long- running role in Home and Away, Judy Nunn is now a best-selling author of 12 novels. She has confirmed her position as one of Australia’s leading fiction writers, selling more than a million books world-wide.

Bruce Venables’ television credits include Wildside, Water Rats and Murder Call, while his films include Evil Angels with Meryl Streep. His novel Time of the Dragons also became a best-seller.

Morris Park will be the venue for celebrations in Canowindra, where the running of the “Canowindra Cup”, a barbecue and children’s entertainment will be part of festivities from 1.30pm.
