What Women Want…Autumn Colours

25 February, 2015 By Canowindra Phoenix Editor

autumn-leaves

As I watch the leaves begin to change from fresh greens to chocolate, tawny and coppers I get rather excited about the fashions for this coming season….
We all know that leaves beginning to turn means winter will be upon us before we know it. Our wardrobes will begin the annual upheaval as we switch flowery, skimpy summer dresses for woolly jumpers and snug coats to prepare as best we can for what is coming.
You will all be glad to know that winter at Kendal is full of colours. From pastels to clear brights that sit against your staple tones of black and charcoal are full of the trends for this Autumn.
In pastels, soft pinks and blues are apparent and winter white is very strong for this season. If these are not your colours you will also find strong khaki green and burnt oranges.
For those women who like bright, bold colours this winter we have you covered! Fire engine red is a stand out this season. Team your red back with camels and black to anchor it, bright red all over is not for the faint of heart!
A neutral colour palette of winter whites and ivory teamed with black or navy form a great basis for your autumn wardrobe. Nay is a predominant colour for Autumn and sits with all colours for a fresh look. Fake furs, felts, silks and crepe sit nicely together to create a unique and wearable wardrobe. The fabrics this season seem to be soft and feminine.
Prints are still strong for this season with animal prints remaining the most popular. Animal prints can simply be teamed back with black basics to create a smart and simple outfit.
Starting this season I will be stocking Tooralie knitwear. This company has had a major revamp and have designed the most beautiful woollen jumpers and cardigans in amazing colours. This knitwear will sit with our ever popular Not your Daughters Jeans and fine 100% merino garments from Hedrena. Goondiwindi Cotton has done a wonderful colour palette for winter and it is retailing very well. They have amazing cottons and the quality is second to none.

My European labels are showing soft pretty feminine fabrics and designs as well as adding a twist for that edgy look. If you look in your wardrobe and simply don’t think your clothes can face this winter or want to try and new look in the cold season then call in to see myself or the girls and we can help you to revamp your look, it’s never too soon for a change!
Take care of yourselves,
Kendal
