What Women Want!

30 January, 2014 By Canowindra Phoenix Editor

I know what you’re thinking, why should we set aside one day out of the year to show our other half love and affection when we should be realistically doing so every day? As long as she’s happy who really cares – Happy Wife Happy Life… right?

Guys Guide…

It’s the thought that counts – Guess what, guys? It’s not a dozen long-stemmed red roses and a pricey box of chocolates that women get all misty-eyed over, women would be far more impressed by a simpler and often less expensive gift that somehow touches her heart. Nawwwwww!

Stay in – Movie themed night with popcorn and chocolate and perhaps even a home cooked meal. I mean the ladies would enjoy this every weekend.. hint hint

Don’t be afraid – to go and buy some nice flowers, they don’t have to be the stereotypical long stemmed red roses you see on movies. And guys, if you’re afraid to be seen in public carrying a bouquet of beautiful flowers at the risk of being dubbed ‘under the thumb’- you can order flowers online and have them delivered, crisis diverted!

Secret Don’ts – these are the things women don’t want but are too polite to say anything. Teddy Bears with Love hearts is a huge No No – end of story….A small jewellery box that doesn’t contain the big rock, nothing more awkward then a girl bursting into tears say- ing ‘I will’ only to discover a pair of earrings; maybe a tiny ‘heads up’ will soften the blow. If you are planning to wine and dine her, make sure it’s somewhere where they bring menus to the table – think class not fast.

Ladies – this one is for you! Remember that Valentine’s Day is about exchanging tokens of affection, so don’t be afraid to also surprise your other half with some choccies, a gift voucher or a carton of beer might be sufficed.

And most importantly – DON’T FORGET!
