Canowindra Public School’s junior girls relay team of Claire Pengilly, Lucy Neville, Ava Thornberry and Haylee Stanbury. placed eighth out of thirty in the PSSA Swimming Championships in Sydney.
Claire Pengilly, Ava Thornberry, Lucy Neville and Haylee Stanbury represented Canowindra Public School at the 2021 Public School’s Sports Association (PSSA) Swimming Championships in Sydney in the junior girls relay.
The team was made up of the four fast-est swimmers from Canowindra Public School in the eight to 10 years age group. The team made it through Cowra District and the Western Region. They were one of three teams to represent the Western Region; that is out of all the public schools west of the Blue Mountains!
The PSSA Swimming Championships saw the girls compete against 29 schools from NSW. They came eighth out of 30.
This is a monumental effort for kids from a small school with a pool that only opens five months of the year. Well done Claire, Ava, Lucy and Haylee!
