Reverend Joy and Max Harris come to Canowindra from the par- ish of Cobargo/Bermagui on the South Coast of NSW in the Dio- cese of Canberra/Goulburn. Rev Joy has been the Rector there for three and a half years and before that an Assistant Priest in the Sapphire Coast Parish for two and a half years. The Narooma Parish was home for 20 years during which Rev Joy and Max raised their family and where in 2003 Rev Joy felt the call of God to ordained ministry.
Before ministry claimed her full attention Rev Joy was a Registered nurse and midwife and also worked for 10 years as a dispensary technician in a pharmacy.
When not working Rev Joy’s other interests include walking, sewing and cross-stitch and she has an interest in learning how to patchwork.
Max is a retired teacher, a keen fisherman, a poet and he loves football (soccer). He is eager to learn about the areas waterways and to catch a few fish!
Rev Joy and Max are looking forward to settling into the Canowindra Parish and getting to know the community and surrounds.
