Dear Editor,
I am writing to express my concern about the impression visitors are receiving when they visit Canowindra. As I was volunteering with the historical museum being open on the weekend there were a lot of visitors passing through and a number were complaining that no toilet paper was available in our brand new toilet facilities. After speaking to one of the gentlemen who is in charge with replenishing the consumables in the toilets , he mentioned that they used to replace consumables as needed in their own time, on weekends or holidays. The council does not allow this to occur anymore and would appear to have no alternate arrangement in place.
The Countrylink bus and most visitors travelling through the town stop here and use these facilities. By not paying attention to the small details around this great new addition to the town some visitors will be left with a bad impression. Some will be hopping around in a hurry to get to the next town instead of having a leisurely stop to look through our town.
Regards,
Ken McDonald
