Virginia Cullane Donates Books for Cancer Research

Book collectors, book lovers and readers will all remember their visits to Canowindra over the past 15 years when they discovered the delights of a real old fashioned second-hand bookshop and book searcher.

Virginia Cullane Books has been part of the historic streetscape of Canowindra during this time and kept many readers in the Central West and beyond, coming back again and again for their needs.

Sixteen years ago, Virginia found she had breast cancer and had to spend 12 weeks in Sydney for treatment. This was very successful until November, 2013 when she discovered the cancer had returned in the form of liver and bone cancer. She is currently undergoing treatment in Orange.

In order that some good may come of her problem for others, Virginia has arranged a huge book sale in Canowindra over the Easter period. All books have been donated from Virginia’s huge reserves & from donations from others, far and wide. The sale will be held in the Old Canowindra Hardware store opposite Virginia’s Bookshop from 9am – 4pm, 14 to 21 April, 2014, excluding Good Friday.

There will also be a raffle for 1st – an original painting, 2nd – a beautiful handmade quilt and 3rd – luncheon for four at Tommy’s Deli Lama, available at $2 per ticket.

Please take a drive to Canowindra over the Easter Period to support Virginia’s efforts. All money raised is to go to Central West Clinical Trials for Breast & Prostate Cancer & therefore will stay in the local area, which is so underfunded for local research.

Donations can be left at the bookshop or at Central Motors 3 doors down in Gaskill St, Canowindra or any enquiries to 0428320559.
