The Canowindra Public School has recently purchased two Defibrillators.
One is located outside the sick bay in the administration building and the other is located in the school hall.
The type of defibrillators that Canowindra Public School purchased are the same as the ones used that saved Greg Page the Yellow Wiggle’s life recently after a heart attack on stage during a performance.
The defibrillators were purchased at the start of Term 3 in the event of a medical emergency at the school and the Canowindra Public School P&C were more than happy to make a part contribution towards the purchase of these devices which can save lives in an instant.
“Fingers crossed we never have to use them,” said Principal Sharon Hawker.
“With the technology these days a Year 5 or 6 student would be able to use the machines, which is great, it guides you through step by step what to do,” said Nadine Daly P&C member.
“The defibrillators are also a fully portable machine so they can be taken to athletics carnivals or any other offsite excursions,” said Mrs Hawker.
These two defibrillators at Canowindra Public School are a welcome addition to the other ones around town, currently located at:
• Canowindra Services Club
• Canowindra Bowling Club
• Canowindra Golf Club
• Canowindra Swimming Pool
• Canowindra Squash Club
• Canowindra Sports Oval
• HACC Office in Gaskill St
The Canowindra Health Council are working on a map of where the defibrillators are located within the community so if you know where there is another one please email Geoffrey Beath on email@example.com
