John Travolta, Olivia Newton John, Shania Twain and Shirley Bassey were just some of the stars performing on the night
Returned local resident, Tommy Jeffs has definitely made an impression within the Canowindra Community, with his grand opening for the Deli Lama which was held at the Royal Hotel last Saturday the 15th.
Approximately 350 people attended the event from Parkes, Port Maquarie, Cowra, Bathurst and Orange. The Royal Hotel was full to capacity. Tommy was overwhelmed with the support from the community and was astounded with the bright colours and outfits. This wasn’t just an occasion for 18 and up, Tommy’s event attracted ages from 3 to 89 and uplifted the spirits of everyone who attended and painted smiles on everyone’s faces.
“Everyone was beautifully dressed up and the most outrageous of the night were definitely the Canowindra folk, great presence, great attitude and extremely fun!” Tommy stated.
On arrival all guests were given a lei, com- plementary drinks and canapés and were greeted by Singer and Dancer, Peter Allen. Canowindra’s first ever drag show definite- ly wowed spectators with Tommy dressing up as John Travolta, Olivia Newton John and Kylie Minogue with his stage name being Lou Lou. His makeup was done by Sydney resident Gale Watt, Debbie Rice’s sister.
The entertainment of the night, besides Tommy’s drag show was Shania Twain in her Texan white snake boots singing ‘Man I feel like a woman’.
Due to the large number of guests, Tommy reached out to a few local residents to help host the night and allowed people to go to the upstairs balcony so no one missed his fabulous show.
“I would like to thank John and Steph Watson for making this night possible, and all the staff that helped with food and drinks, It was a fantastic night and allowed me to introduce myself to Canowindra, and for Canowindra to introduce itself to me”, Tommy said.
