With something as joyful and spectacular as Christmas, why not have it twice? There is so much to love about Christmas, but here in Australia we are a few snowflakes, mulled wine, and toasty fires away from great.
Christmas in July has returned to Canowindra this year, with Montrose House hosting lavish Yuletide themed dinner parties throughout July, The Old Vic Inn offering a beautiful three course meal, and Gloria’s Country Kitchen encouraging everyone to wear their ugliest Christmas sweater for their dinner spread.
Tommy Jeffs is Canowindra’s very own King of Christmas, and this year is no exception, with Montrose House embellished with Christmas decorations that embrace the mid year festivities.
“We love to do it properly here at Montrose House and the settings this year are bringing out the white and reds with gold trims for the Yuletide pizzazz,” said Tommy.
Montrose House is still taking bookings for dinners on 13th and 20th July. There is no better way to enjoy a beautiful hot roast meal in this winter weather.
The origins of Christmas in July date back to France in 1892, when an Opera was performed where a group of children rehearsed a Christmas song in July.
Christmas is all about bonding time with family, friends and let’s not forget the food, food, food! The sentiment of Christmas in July is centred on the belief that there is no need to wait for one specific day to celebrate love, friendship and peace.
