Unfortunately the Condobolin first grade side had to forfeit on Sunday. Most of the team were in attendance but due to work and injuries there weren’t enough to field a team. All supporters were looking forward to the contest as Condobolin have been playing well and moving up the ladder.
All sponsors and past players are formally invited to attend this Sundays clash against Grenfell. The League Tag and Youth League games are set to be crackers.
The Youth League side went down to Condobolin 40-22 with Condo controlling the first half leading 34-4. The Tigers lacked enthusiasm in defence in the first half but turned it around in the second.
The young Tigers looked to make a great comeback narrowing the gap to 34-22 and nearly scored on four occasions but Condobolin defence held.
Warm welcome to Dalton Kinsella who on debut scored a try and was hard to stop on many occasions. Tyler Reid had a strong game scoring two tries. Jack De Freitas had one of his best games as did Ky Oborne.
It’s a must win next week to reach the semi-finals.
The League Tag girls put on the match of the day last weekend. Condobolin looked impressive early and from an intercept scored the first points to lead 6-0. Shortly after the Tigresses swung the ball wide for Maddie Brooks to score the first of her two tries to trail 6-4. Condobolin scored an unconverted try to go to 10 and Maddie Brooks sped away to run 40 metres to score and Charlie Burling converted 10-10 at the break.
Both teams putting pressure on and the game sawed up and down the field both teams scoring twice one to Emma Bailey and one to Katie Price. The scores locked up at 20 all with a minute remaining when player of the match Channyne Goolagong scoring four tries, she was the difference between the sides.
Tigers take on Grenfell this Sunday in Canowindra gates opening at 10.15am.
