The Canowindra Junior Rugby League Football Club (JRLFC) have finished the 2023 season on a high, with three teams winning their respective grand final matches held last weekend in Parkes.
In the under 12’s tackle grand final, the Canowindra Tigers were too good for the Cabonne Roos, winning the game 24 – 18. It was an entertaining game to watch, with some of the girls on the team showing their tiger pride by turning up in bright orange tutus.
The under 14’s tag girls gave an impressive performance, winning a tough game against West Wyalong 12 – 8. The girls played their entire season hard and fast, always keeping the opposition on their toes. They should be very proud of everything they have achieved throughout the season.
The under 17’s tag girls had a convincing win over the Grenfell Goannas, taking the match 18 – 0. These young women have fought hard and earned their position at the top of the ladder through blood, sweat and tears. The Canowindra JRLFC congratulate their coach for his unwavering support of the girls throughout the highs and lows of the 2023 season.
The under 14’s tackle team put up a hard fight in their grand final against West Wyalong, but were unfortunately beaten 14 – 8. The boys played a good game and should be very proud of their achievements.
Canowindra JRLFC AGM will be held at 12pm this Saturday, 9th September at the Canowindra Services Club, followed by a bbq and presentation.
Congratulations to all the teams that participated in the 2023 season, it is now time to rest up and get ready for next year!
