The smiling faces of the Wright girls will be missed around Canowindra and Eugowra Swimming Pools when the swimming season wraps up at the end of the month.
Julia, the eldest of the two sisters has been a lifeguard at the pool for the last three years, while this has been Claire’s first season. Their brother Will has performed lifeguard duties at both pools in the past and has since moved away from the region studying at the University of NSW.
Now there is another Wright family member to add to the list. Towards the end of this season, their mother Ash made the decision to undertake the lifeguard training course with the intention to support the Eugowra War Memorial Swimming Pool.
With the season ending the Wright girls will turn their focusses elsewhere. Ash will be focussing on her role as a Community Health Manager and Physiotherapist.
Julia is heading off to Broome to gain more experience in the pearl farms while Claire is heading for Queensland to take a gap year as a station hand.
We all look forward to seeing Ash, Julia and Claire return for the next pool season.
