Mayor of Cabonne, Michael Hayes has congratulated two Cabonne businesses after they were named as finalists in the 2015 Travel Inn Inland NSW Tourism Awards.
Canowindra’s Old Vic Inn, together with Lakeview Luxury Apartments near Orange, are among 13 finalists from the Central NSW Tourism region, who will be in the running for the awards when they are announced at Broken Hill on 25th July, 2015.
The awards are presented each year to acknowledge tourism excellence in the Central West, Inland, Murray and Riverina tourism areas.
“It is a significant achievement to be selected as a finalist,” Cr Hayes said. “These awards recognise the high standard of professionalism and innovation the finalists have shown in their field.”
The Old Vic Inn has achieved multiple successes in previous years and is a member of the Inland Tourism Awards Hall of Fame.
Graeme and Alison Beasley said “we are delighted being named as one of only two finalists in these awards.” Graeme said, “in order to be considered for the Awards we enlisted the help of Lisa Starr from Starr Designs, who helped us draft and design the 30 page submission, which accounts for 80% of the points allocated.”
The Tourism Judge from Inland Tourism visited with Graeme and Alison and stayed overnight, dined in the restaurant, and met with the owners and staff, all as part of the overall point scoring. Criteria which had to be met were: first impressions, product, management and staff, customer service, services and facilities, WH&S risk and sustainability and professionalism.
Both Graeme and Alison will be attending the awards on the 25th July and we wish them all the best. In the meantime, if you are looking for somewhere to go and have a nice cosy drink, then head to the Old Vic Inn and enjoy their roaring fire any night of the week.
