The sun was shining and the community spirit was high on Saturday 25 November to help the Read family celebrate their open day at The Miracle House. The Open Day was to celebrate and present the near finished house that has been a long journey in the making.
Mostly it was to show appreciation and thanks to the 100 plus volunteers that have gone above and beyond to make the Read family’s dream house become a reality. There was 150 plus visitors at the open home consisting of volunteers, community members, family, friends and business owners who have donated their own time and products to the Miracle House. Ben, Jemimah, Anwen, Mahalah and Gideon have been overwhelmed with the support and kindness they have received over the last 3 years and are very proud to be a part of a great community like Canowindra.
Although their house is not in full completion the Read family are optimistic to be moving into their new wheelchair, climate controlled house before Christmas 2017. Final touches are to be made by tradesmen for the house to be ready for the Read family to move in.
The triplets Anwen, Mahalah and Gideon were very excited and proud to show the visitors their new home and are eagerly waiting for the move in day. The Triplets have been coming out to the house regularly to check on the progress.
The Read family would like to thank the generosity and commitment of all involved. They would also like to thank the group of dedicated Canowindra locals who got behind them and created the charitable trust ‘Raising for the Read Triplets Inc’. Without this trust the house would not have been completed as swiftly. Three cheers for Canowindra!
