Children at Canowindra Pre-school are learning this Christmas that sometimes it’s not so important what you receive, but what you give away. The Pre-school have set up the ‘Christmas Giving Tree’ in the front office to help the Salvation Army’s ‘I Believe In Christmas’ campaign. The campaign, which involves collecting gifts around the Central West to distribute to less fortunate families, is a great way for youngsters to learn about the joys of sharing. “We usually have a raffle but decided this year rather than fundraise for ourselves we would give back to the community” says Mandy Townsend. “Christmas is all about giving. We began last week and already have soaps, books and stamps under the Giving Tree.” The gifts will be collected on the 12th December and will be sent to local families feeling the pinch this Christmas. If you would like to be involved leave an unwrapped gift under the tree in the front office of Canowindra Pre-school and share the gift of giving.
