The Goonigal Poll Dorsets 11th Annual Ram Sale is at the Canowindra Showground on Friday 11 September.
Goonigal Poll Dorsets will be holding their 11th Annual Ram Sale at the Canowindra Showground on Friday 11 September commencing at 1pm. All Rams will be penned by 11.30am for your inspection. This year rams are sired by Abelene Park and Goonigal Sires. Rams will be Stockscanned.
The established stud was purchased in 2006 by Robbie, Maureen Lawrence and son Charles.
Later Charles wife, Kylie joined the family business, and together over the intervening years, have transformed it into the major farming operation it is today.
Goonigal started selling rams on their farm from 2006 by appointment, for the first few years, then eleven years ago started holding their annual sale at the showground, which seemed a fairer way to sell their rams.
The stud enjoys fantastic feedback from their clients regarding the quality of lambs the stud produce, with happy clients returning each year to source their rams.
Seasonal conditions this year have been a bit tough, with no early Autumn break but it is shaping up now for a good spring.
The lambs go on to make impeccable export or sucker lambs, that are typically sold at 14 to 16 weeks, weighing 50-55Kg live weight. This year the market is looking really good with top prises awarded especially to Poll Dorset sired lambs.
Goonigal Poll Dorsets will have 80 rams for sale which have been vet checked and are OJD vaccinated, Brucellosis Accredited andfoot rot free.
