This week marks the opening of a new rural retail store in Canowindra, Terra Ag Central West, who had their opening night last Thursday 6th June.
Terra Ag Central West is part of the Terra Ag group, a member of NRI (National Rural Independents), who also operates retail stores in Griffith and Swan Hill. The business will service the needs of growers across the Central West NSW region, providing AgChem, Seed, Fertiliser, Animal Health products and Agronomy services.
Melissa and Jaye (Freddy) Trengove are the new joint owners of Terra Ag Central West alongside the Terra Ag group. Melissa and Freddy are local to the region, with Melissa’s family owning a farm at Canowindra in her childhood. Their three children attend the local primary school and both are involved in the Canowindra Junior Rugby Union Club, and they will continue to operate their mixed cropping and sheep farm along with Terra Ag Central West.
For the past 16 years, Melissa was employed by Nufarm, as a Sales Manager for Central NSW, and most recently as Nufarm’s Key Account Manager for NRI and Elders nationally. Prior to these roles, Melissa worked as an agronomist with Elders in Central Queensland, after she completed an Agricultural Science degree at the University of Sydney.
Freddy, a welder by trade, has worked extensively in the region carting sheep and cattle for local farmers, and has consider able experience working on his own mixed cropping and sheep farm.
