You couldn’t have wished for a finer, sunnier pre-summer evening last Saturday for the annual Twilight Markets in Canowindra.
And the townspeople made the most of it, pouring into the Memorial Park to enjoy a wide variety of stalls including Rosnay, Windowrie and Peewees Bakery to name but a few.. While families wandered the stalls or lounged in groups on the grass they were entertained by local folk and blues singers Josh Maynard, Nerida Cuddy and Julie Bates.
The evening offered the added attraction of Canowindra’s historical culture, with the Historical Museum and its astonishing array of relics thrown open right next door. Visitors were also treated to the unveiling of new signage for the museum’s most treasured exhibit, the Merriganowry Pioneer Hut. Two of the most popular vendors on what turned out to be a particularly hot spring evening were Harriet Agostina and Georgia Robson, pictured at their stall offering ice-cool lemonade along with chocolate cake and Belubula Butchers ham rolls.
