Next Friday a sprinkling of glamour will be descending on the Services Club. Tallulah, Christmas Cabaret Extravaganza is shimmying into Canowindra, courtesy of Tommy Jeffs at the Deli Lama. Back in September, when the Canowindra High School tuckshop was vandalised, Tommy decided that he needed to find a way to work with the community to help raise funds for our local school. The tuckshop, including the equipment, food and incidentals, was not insured, so this is a huge hole to fill. Tommy is working hand in hand with the local Lions Club and together they hope to raise around $10,000 for the night, a goal which is getting closer considering half the tickets have already been sold.
Tommy said, “It’s not really about the money, it is about giving people that happiness back that we always have in this town, and allowing them to attend a fantastic night. It is part of the healing process for people in Canowindra to make good on the vicious vandalism attack.” Tommy, for those not aware, kept Headspace going in Cowra when it was on its knees by raising over $36,000 and since moving to Canowindra has raised $10,000 for Beyond Blue with his show in April. This is a great opportunity to get your staff together for an end of year Xmas party, whilst supporting a vital part of your community. Tickets are available at the Deli Lama and the High School for $35 each. Get in soon and secure your seat, Tommy is threatening to retire, so this might be his last show! Please support this worthy cause.
