A cool easterly provided little in the way of wind assistance and a lot of wind chill by the end of the night. Before this, 48 swimmers were culled down to 6, through heats and semis, for the Spoon final. With 11 seconds separating the slowest from the fastest it was a quick lap of freestyle. Michael Coady triumphed in lane 3 as he swam a personal best 21 seconds to take home the coveted Spoon. The relay went to lane 4 as Lillian Harrison, Connor Munroe, Lucas Ellis, Caitlin Brand, Louis O’Dea, Patrick Hickman, Dominic Smyth and Finbar Smyth took home the pennants. Special mention goes the Amara Flannery who swam the first and last legs of the relay for lane 3 as two brothers went home after the relay was finalised and before it was swum. This is the last week of swimming club for 2014 it resumes on Friday 9th January 2015.
