There were swimmers everywhere on Friday night with over 90 swimmers in the 25m free- style or the ‘Spoon’. Ella Breen knocked 6 seconds off her new time while Ruby Arnott improved by 3 seconds.
In the semis Bill Harrison knocked 3 seconds off his PB which meant Oliver Etty took his place in the final. Oliver Etty improved his time by another second, three seconds over the three races, and took home the Spoon just two tenths of a second ahead of Meg Austin. Oliver also smashed his time by 16 seconds in the 50m breaststroke.
In 50m backstroke Samuel Brand improved by 17 seconds and Michael McNamara by 16 seconds.
60 swimmers lined up in the relay with the lead alternating as slower and faster swimmers took to the water. It came down to lanes one and two with Amelia Holmes fin- ishing the stronger to give lane two the win 2 seconds ahead of lane one. Winning with Amelia were Joanna Balcombe, Jamie Austin, Julia Wright, Tori McKay, Anja Gower, Caleb Giger, Marshall McKay, Bill Harrison and Con- nor Munroe. Pennants will be given out next week.
To avoid cranky people on the table could all swimmers please sign the blue folder before Wednesday afternoon, so the table knows what race you want to swim in and you can be entered easily.
