Swimming Club Report

28 February, 2014 By Canowindra Phoenix Editor

Backstroke and Butterfly championships were swum on Friday and there were even some brave souls who swam the 4 laps of butterfly. Winners will be announced on Presentation Night at the end of the season.

In the Spoon Ruby Arnott dropped her PB by 3 seconds in the heat while Will Ward got into the Final by taking 2 seconds off his time in the semi-final.

In the Final Will dropped his time by another 3 seconds but unfortunately this meant he swam too fast to take home the spoon.

Zali Dunn won the Spoon in a PB equalling time of 21 seconds, while Will received a swim star cap in recognition of his efforts.

In the 50m breaststroke it was triple Flannery’s as Alex, Laura and Amara breast stroked side by side with Alex touching a fingernail’s width ahead of sister Laura.

In the relay it was a win to lane 1 with special thanks to Curtis Bennett and Wade Kinsela who swam twice in their lane to make up the numbers.

Taking home the pennants were Max Coady, Angus Fisher, Hudson Izzard, Meg Austin, Georgie Fisher, Taylah Cahill, Rianna Reeves, Oliver Etty and Will Ward.

The sign up folder will be taken on Thursday morning so could all swimmers make sure they sign up before then as Championships will be written up and ready to go on Friday evening. Sign up and be ready for roll call at 5:45pm on Friday.

The Swimming NSW registration site is now up and running so any unregistered swimmers can now access the site and register as normal.
