Kerry French from Cowra came to play the bagpipes for Tommy Jeffs Birthday on Monday morning pictured with Janeen Wright and Gail Davis.
At 10am on Monday 19th October 2020 over 60 people gathered in Gaskill St to wish local legend Tommy Jeffs a Happy 69th Birthday. There were close friends, business owners and even the Canowindra Pre-School children came down to wish their mate Tommy a Happy Birthday.
It was all a big surprise for Tommy, who had been off at his Monday morning exercise class and had no idea what was planned.
As he drove in the gates to Montrose House in Gaskill St he saw a number of people waiting and waving and large Happy Birthday balloons decorating the front of Montrose House much to his amazement.
Gail Davis and Janeen Wright organised the surprise celebration for Tommy along with a beautiful “Tallulah” inspired Cake by local business Cakes By Jade with an edible image provided by LizeyLicious Cookies and Edible Images of Canowindra and Kerry French from Cowra even played the bagpipes down Gaskill St to the delight of well wishers and Tommy.
Janeen Wright made a brief speech for Tommy, commending him on his community work and recent OAM award and read a quote which sums up Tommy perfectly “The life of a person is measured not with years, but with the footprint that he leaves in other people’s lives, thoughts and hearts.”
Tommy was actually speechless! “Thanks to everyone for coming this morning, I am truly overwhelmed, I love being a part of this town and community here in Canowindra,” said Tommy.
Everyone who attended was then invited into Montrose House for tea, coffee and cake.
We hope you had a great day Tommy and can’t wait to celebrate your 70th next year!
