The recently run “Squash Coaching the Coaches” clinic was well received with eight applicants participating over twelve hours. In a small club like the Canowindra Squash Club, to have a feeder group of young players is really important as is teaching them to play properly.
So many avenues were explored in teach ing the skills and interesting and fun ways which the club now hope to put into practice. Geoff Davenport from Squash Australia conducted the clinic and will mentor the new coach applicants.
The club is running on all cylinders with an influx of new junior and senior players breathing new life into it, it is so very good to see and enthusiasm is high. Recent matches show how competitive matches were: Kassie topped Kobie 61-60, Simon beat Wendy 62-57, Helen was beaten by Andrew 67-65, Mark lost 52-55 to Ollie, Will stopped Sammy 56-47 and Ken went down to Fred 60-65.
