Squash Club Championship Success

21 September, 2022 By Amber Adams

Canowindra Squash Club held their annual Club Championships during the week starting 5th September with finals, then finishing with a BBQ and presentation held on Saturday 10th September.

The Championships were slightly down on numbers this year, but this did not in affect the standard of squash that was played throughout the week.

The High School and Ladies preliminaries kicked off on the Monday with many close games being played. It was great to see so many high school kids take part in the high school, Opens and Ladies categories as well.

Thursday night saw the Men’s Masters and Open category preliminaries commence and this too saw some close matches and lots of improvement from all players. The games were fast and furious at times and the level of sportsmanship displayed was commendable.

Saturday morning finished off all the preliminaries. A big congratulations to the following players who won their finals and a mention to Jamie and Sammy Austin who fought it out in the Open final for a second consecutive year. What a fabulous game to watch.
