Sport…Youth League

24 June, 2015 By Canowindra Phoenix Editor

The young Tigers started off well on Sunday, working the game plan without reserves. The Tigers looked dangerous and Simon Oliver scored to lead 4-0. After some mistakes and an injury to Simon Oliver, Grenfell took the lead 18-4.

The second half was all Tigers and saw them only trail by two. Grenfell stretched their lead to 8 but the boys backed themselves, scoring to trail by two points. They were on the attack when the full time hooter went.

It was a great comeback and proves they can play football in the second half. Try scorers were Simon Oliver, Sam Willson, Ebann Malae and Jack Grant, while Dan Friend kicked 3 from 4 goals.

Points went to Wesley Blair, Billy Braithwaite and Sam Willson, and players player went to Wesley Blair. The Juniors now have a few weeks off. Congratulations and good luck to Jack Grant and Sam Willson for making the under 18 s Woodbridge Cup team playing in Campbelltown this weekend
