The Canowindra Pythons played West Wyalong Weevils on Saturday.
Lacking numbers, the Pythons played considerably well until the last 15 minutes of the game when West Wyalong dominated the scoreboard. The final score was 43-5 with Lachlan Watson being the only try scorer for Canowindra.
Players player and 3 points went to Joe Keady, 2 points to Daniel Bowd and 1 point to both Michael Grant and Kenny Turnball.
The Pythons have donated their home game for the Ben Mitchell Rugby Tribute match which will be played at Cudal. Ben Mitchell was sadly lost last year which devastated his friends, family and the whole local community. Ben played rugby for the Cudal Cobras and was an active member of the community so what better way to honour his memory than to have a day of football.
The money raised from this day will go towards the Child Care Centre, the Primary School and a shade structure at the ground in tribute to Ben Mitchell.
Everyone is invited to come along to support this local community and to see a great day of football with 3 games being played.
At 12:15 the day will be kicked off with an U7’s Walla Rugby game with the Canowindra Pythons playing the Cudal Cobras. The main game will be played at 3:15 with the Pythons taking on the Molong Magpies.
