Last weekend the Canowindra Tigers travelled to Condobolin. The Tigers failed to move off the line and looked flat in defence, which gave the Condobolin forwards an advantage.

Sam O’Malveney was injured in the first minutes of the game, shuffling players from their regular positions. He is out with a broken arm.

The Tigers scored first with good ball movement and a conversion from Matt McLean, but Condobolin scored two quick tries for the lead.

The Tigers hit back to level the scores until Condobolin bounced back again. They struggled to gain a good position on the field against Condobolin, who are always hard to beat on their home ground. Condobolin took the victory with a score of 36-22, a disappointing loss for the Tigers. Player’s Player went to Jayden Brown.

Next week, the Tigers will play at home against Trundle, while the Youth League will have another bye.

League Tag

On the weekend, the Canowindra League Tag girls travelled to Condobolin. The team had great defence against the Condobolin team, with Jan Holmes, Tanika Wensley and Ashley McLean making some beautiful chase downs to save tries.

The girls showed great skill in spreading the ball, with their first try early in the second half. Alicia scored the second try by throwing 3 dummies and running through the line, but it wasn’t enough for the team, a disappointing loss of 40-8.

Player’s Player went to Ashley McLean and Tanika Wensley. The Ladies’ League Tag will play next weekend at 12:50pm at home in Canowindra.
