Men’s Bowls
In the most recent Minor Singles event, G. Wilson shot away to lead 26-17 but his opponent Bob Bates wasn’t having any of it. Bob got back into the game trailing 22-26. This game had everyone on the edge of their seat as the scores got closer at 26-28, but someone had to come second. G. Wilson finally won the event 32-26.
In the Minor Pairs event, D. Sargent and P. Kennedy defeated R. Lynch and K. Walker with a score of 25-14. This game was played with great sportsmanship.
There were two Major Pairs Semi Finals. T. Mooney and Vinnie mirto defeated Barney Robson and C. Milburn with a score of 24-13. C. Webb & B.Webb also defeated D. Beath and P. Jones with a score of 25-14.
Mixed mufti will be on Saturday 1:30 for a 2pm start. Also on Saturday Vinnie Mirto and T. Mooney will go up against B. Webb and C. Webb in the Major Pairs Final. Major and Minor Triples nominations close Sunday 12th July.
On the 11th the Bowling Club are holding a Christmas In July event starting at 6:30. Proceeds go to Lodge Canowindra. For more information call the Club on 6344 1605.
Ladies Bowls
Two matches were played 7th July. Fours Championship Final: Marion Wilson, Deana Noble, Margaret Gosper & Heather Hoad defeated Betty Hodge, Radka Tatterson, Ellen Petty & Sharon O’Malveney 19-18.
Minor Singles Semi-Final: Daph Bryant defeated Betty Jenkins 25-14. The final between Daph Bryant & Diane Slattery will be played Tuesday July 14th.
