The Canowindra Garden Club held a very successful Spring Garden Event at Noojee Lea Homestead last Saturday to raise some much needed funds for the Canowindra Hospital Auxiliary.
With perfect spring weather the crowds flocked to the home of Charles and Eva Curran on Fish Fossil Drive. The beautiful garden at Noojee Lea includes the Walled Garden and Western Courtyard designed by Paul Bangay. Visitors were amazed at the extensive grounds surrounding the homestead along with magnificent views of the surrounding countryside.
Guest were treated to a Devonshire Tea in the garden along with market stalls from local businesses Eureka Plants and Perennialle Plants. The raffle was drawn by Canowindra Garden Club President Carolyn Wythes together with Health Service Manager at Canowindra Hospital Janice Rumph. First prize went to Sue Harris, second prize to J Payne and third prize to Annette Thomas.
The money raised on the day will go to the Canowindra Hospital Auxiliary to spend on the renovation of the patient lounge area at the hospital. The patient lounge needs new flooring, blinds, artwork, furniture and a coat of paint.
