The Cowra Eagles, who played at home against Bathurst City in the Bathurst District Football over the weekend, wore yellow armbands and held a minute of silence on Sunday before their game as a tribute to the late Stephanie Scott.
After playing a tough match, both 1st and 2nd grade teams lost to the visiting side.
Toby Baker was named “Man of the Match” in what was the teams’ first game at the top of the competition.
Team member Tim Waite said, “In the end the more experienced Colts side ran away with the game, but not without a good fight from the Cowra players. Many of the players will take plenty from the game and will be better for it.”
Next week will see both games playing at home again.
