Canowindra Zoo: The Canowindra Historical Society and Museum are after information from older residents to see if there was a “Zoo” in the area near the tennis courts of Canowindra. There have been whispers that there was a collection of wildlife there, perhaps along the lines of peacocks in the early 1930s. Stronger Country Communities Funding: Cabonne Council will submit 13 community projects to be considered for funding
under the second round of the NSW Government’s Stronger Country Communities Fund. The projects (see listing in advertisement on Page 5), with a total value of more than $3.6 million, range from the expansion of long day care facilities at Molong and Cudal to sporting venue upgrades, major showground improvements and the construction of shared mobility access pathways in various towns and villages. The Council is now seeking public comment and feedback on each of the proposals before submitting its application to the Department of Premier and Cabinet, which will assess the projects and make a determination on funding. Public comment and feedback will provide valuable evidence of community support for the various projects. The Government will also survey local communities through consultants Choice Modelling to independently confirm community support for the proposals. Canowindra Tigers Reunion: The Canowindra Tigers 1965 and 1968 Under 18 Premiers Reunion will be held on the night of the 5th May 2018. Saturday the 5th will be a Home Game for Canowindra at Tom Clyburn Oval. The venue on the Saturday night will be the Canowindra Bowling Club.
