Congratulations: To Doris Pfeiffer who was the winner of the Major Prize for “Abstract Art” in the recent Evans Arts Council Inc Exhibition in Bathurst.

Daffodil Day: Well done to the Canowindra community for supporting this great fundraiser. Rob Morris said “We nearly sold out of all merchandise which was great!” The day raised about $1,620.

Very Successful: The Men’s Health Event organised by Lodge Canowindra with the support and assistance of the Canowindra
Community Health Centre last Thursday was described by Ash Wright “as very successful”. From the Medical fraternity Steve Millard, Manager of the Clinical Trials Unit at Orange Base Hospital and Dr Ros Bullock attended the evening. Out of 38 registrations 31 attended with questionnaires completed. Lodge Canowindra would like to thank those that attended the event.

Father’s Day: Don’t forget to spoil Dad this Father’s Day on Sunday 3 September.

Moorbel Markets are on again: Moorbel Markets will be held on Saturday 2 September commencing at 8.00am until 12 noon at the Moorbel Hall. A great range of stalls are available which include handmade pottery, canvas printed photography, gift items, collectable items, plants, goat’s milk soap, bath salts, medical socks, jewellery, wide range of handmade cards, jams,
bric-a-brac and of course, lovely homemade cooking.

Blacksmith Workshop in Canowindra: Demonstrator – Dave Walker from ‘All Things Sharpened’ will hold a demonstration and workshop on Saturday 9 September from 10am at the Canowindra Showground. Bookings essential, cost is $20pp. Cuppa provided by Canowindra Creative Centre and sausage sizzle provided by Canowindra Men’s Shed will be available at minimal cost. Lachlan Valley Water Photo Competition: An amateur photography competition aimed at bringing to light the diversity and value of irrigated food and fibre production in the region has been launched today by Lachlan Valley Water (LVW). The $300 cash prize money will be split between the two categories with a winner and runner up to be announced on 29 September. All details about
the competition and entry forms are available on the website www.lvw.com.au.
