Stork News: Racheal and PJ McCaffery are proud to announce the arrival of their daughter Fely Dawn McCaffery. Born on 9th August at 8.54am weighing 10pound 2ounces. Proud big sisters are Lila 9 & Freya 6, Granddaughter to Peter & Marilyn Daley of Canowindra & Lois & the late Paul McCaffery of Canowindra.

Miracle House: The Read Triplets Miracle House is coming along nicely and the house is now ready for rendering. Any volunteers would be greatly appreciated. Just turn up at the house in Vista Lane or contact Jemimah Read or Mark Ward if you’d like to help! A lovely morning tea and lunch will be provided.

Pit Stop Health Assessment Event: Attention all blokes – you are invited to the Canowindra Community Health Centre on Thursday 24th August at 7pm to have a range of assessments/tests done, including: – IPSS prostate questionnaire, K-10 Kessler Distress Questionnaire and General Health Assessments including Blood Pressure and BSL’s. Daffodil Day: Is on Friday 25th August and there will be a stall outside Lawrence’s IGA from 7.30am. Call by and grab some fresh daffodils or any other daffodil merchandise and support a great cause – the Cancer Council!

Not too late to apply: Community groups in Cabonne have only until 5pm on Friday 18 August to apply for Council grants to improve the liveability of their areas. The Community Assistance Program grants are designed to provide an ongoing or sustainable benefit to Cabonne communities. To be eligible, groups must be a not-for-profit organisation in the Cabonne Local Government Area and be undertaking a project on non-commercial facilities within the Shire. For Further details about the grants and application forms visit council’s website www.cabonne.nsw.gov.au

IGA Community Chest: Canowindra High School and St Edward’s Primary School have been chosen as recipients of Lawrence’s IGA Community Chest program. So when you do your next shop at IGA tell the friendly staff you pick Community Chest and the local schools will benefit!
