Stork News: Kerby Lawrence, James Wythes and proud sister Lydia, welcomed Betty Penelope Wythes on the 29/05/2017, 7lb 7oz, 3.37kg. Grandparents are John and Gleniss Lawrence, Michael and Julie Wythes.

Movie Night: Hosted by the Canowindra Pre-School is on Saturday 24th June at 6.30pm. Come along and watch the award winning film Lion for just $25 including dinner and dessert. Tickets are available from the Pre-School or Phoenix Office.

Arts Out West: The government grant provides small art and community organisations in regional NSW to run their own local art projects, apply now.

Regional Tourism: Orange is leading the way for Central NSW tourism with substantial increases to both visitation and spend. More and more of Australia are learning about the great wine and produce in this area, with a desire to visit the region for a first hand experience.

Moorbel Markets this Saturday: Commencing from 8-12pm at the Moorbel Hall. There will be a great range of stalls available which include: pottery, gift items, collectable items, a wide variety of plants, Doug’s gourmet potatoes, goat’s milk soap, medical socks, jewellery, handmade cards, jams, bric-a-brac and lovely homemade cooking.

Blood Bank to visit Canowindra: The Australian Red Cross is calling for all blood donations when they visit Canowindra on Wednesday 21st June, from 9.15am-3.30pm at Morris Park. It only takes about an hour to donate blood and your donation could help save three lives. 34% of blood donations go to cancer and blood related diseases, 19% other causes of anemia, 18% surgical patients, 13% other medical problems, 10% orthopaedic patients including fractures, 4% obstetrics including pregnant women and 2% to trauma and accidents.

Tractor Trek: Is calling for sponsorship and donations to kick start the year before the event on the 23rd and 24th of September. Larger sponsorship packages include: Bronze Trek Mate $250 which provides fuel for Little Wings ground transport, Silver Trek Mate $500 to fund fuel for one child’s flight to the children’s hospital, Gold Trek Mate $1,500 to cover frequent cost of flights for child who lives over 300km away and Platinum Trek Mate $2,500 to assist Little Wings provide a return flight home.

Indigenous Leaders Honoured: Thomas Edwin Calma, Dr Lowitja O’Donoghue and Dr Galarrwuy Yunupingu are the recipients of this years’ Australia Post Legends, appearing on commemorative stamps. The award recognises the lifelong advocacy and leadership in the community.
