Moorbel Markets this Saturday: Commencing from 8-12pm at the Moorbel Hall. There will be a great range of stalls available which include: pottery, gift items, collectable items, a wide variety of plants, Doug’s gourmet potatoes, goat’s milk soap, medical socks, jewellery, handmade cards, jams, bric-a-brac and lovely homemade cooking.
Blood Bank to visit Canowindra: The Australian Red Cross is calling for all blood donations when they visit Canowindra on Wednesday 21st June, from 9.15am-3.30pm at Morris Park. It only takes about an hour to donate blood and your donation could help save three lives. 34% of blood donations go to cancer and blood related diseases, 19% other causes of anemia, 18% surgical patients, 13% other medical problems, 10% orthopaedic patients including fractures, 4% obstetrics including pregnant women and 2% to trauma and accidents.
Tractor Trek: Is calling for sponsorship and donations to kick start the year before the event on the 23rd and 24th of September. Larger sponsorship packages include: Bronze Trek Mate $250 which provides fuel for Little Wings ground transport, Silver Trek Mate $500 to fund fuel for one child’s flight to the children’s hospital, Gold Trek Mate $1,500 to cover frequent cost of flights for child who lives over 300km away and Platinum Trek Mate $2,500 to assist Little Wings provide a return flight home.
Indigenous Leaders Honoured: Thomas Edwin Calma, Dr Lowitja O’Donoghue and Dr Galarrwuy Yunupingu are the recipients of this years’ Australia Post Legends, appearing on commemorative stamps. The award recognises the lifelong advocacy and leadership in the community.
