Markets At Moorbel On Again! Moorbel Markets will be held on Saturday 2nd April from 8am until 12 noon at Moorbel Hall. A great range of stalls are available including garden art, collectable items, a wide variety of plants, vegetables, free range eggs, Doug’s gourmet potatoes, goat’s milk soap, medical socks, jewellery, handmade cards, jams, bric-a-brac and of course lovely homemade cooking. A barbeque will provide sausage or rissole sandwiches and a cuppa with scones are also available to purchase at a minimal price. We look forward to seeing you there.

Mosaic Back By Popular Request: The Canowindra Creative Centre’s ‘Introduction to Mosaic’ will be held again on Monday 4th April from 10.30am to 12 noon at the Canowindra CWA Rooms. This is a great opportunity to try the beautiful art of mosaic making. All materials are provided along with a cuppa and biscuits. Attendance is by donation. For more information contact Deb on 6344 2490.

Heritage Week: Heritage week traditionally runs from 3rd April but here in Canowindra we’re kicking off early! On Saturday 2nd April two free events will focus on the Historical Museum as part of the 2016 open weekend for museums in Blayney, Cabonne and Orange. Noted local bush ranging authority, Craig Lawler, will conduct a walking tour of bushranger sites which will begin at 10am outside Finns Store and end at the Historical Museum, which will be open from 10am to 3pm with ‘curator led tours’ every hour, on the hour. This is a great opportunity to re-discover your local Museum and explore new aspects of our collected and preserved heritage.

Ultrasound Success: The Canowindra Hospital Auxiliary would sincerely like to thank everyone that has donated to the ultra sound machine for the Canowindra Hospital. Within three weeks and with the generosity of the community we have reached our goal! Over the next few months negotiations will take place with Dr O’Ryan, Dr Padma and NSW Health and they will determine the right machine to purchase. Well done to all who were involved.- Peggy Beath, President of Canowindra Hospital Auxiliary.

Easter Book Sale: Jenny Cullane followed in her mother’s footsteps over Easter, holding a huge charity book sale over the long weekend that raised around $3500 for Central West Clinical Trials for Breast and Prostate Cancer in Orange. The book sale was set up outside Canowindra Hardware with most books selling for $5. Well done to the volunteers who manned the stall over the four days.

New Shop Opening! The Handmade Emporium launches on 1st April from 4.30pm to 7.30pm. This brand new shop is located on the corner of Belmore and Ferguson Street. From 2nd April Trading Hours will be 9.30am to 4.30pm.
