Congratulations: To Canowindra boy Rhyan Grant and Sydney FC on winning the Soccer Grand Final on Sunday night!

Canowindra Creative Centre: Wool Craft is on at Orana House every Monday from 11am to 3pm and Mosaic is on every Tues- day 10am to 2pm. Come along with your projects or if you’re wanting to learn these crafts call in, have a cuppa and a chat. At- tend by donation. Blacksmith demonstra- tion and workshop is on Saturday 27th May from 10am at the Canowindra Show- ground. Cost is $12. Cuppa and sausage sizzle available at a minimal fee. Bookings essential. Donations Wanted: Two local families are heading to Fiji at the end of the month and are calling for donations to take with them! They are looking to take ladies bras (much needed), footy jumpers or apparel and sta- tionery for the schools they are visiting. Any donations can be left at the Phoenix office.

Red Shield Appeal: The annual Salvation Army Red Shield Appeal Doorknock will be held on Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th May around Canowindra. If you would like to Volunteer please contact Mark on 6344 1475.

NSW Businesses Remain Optimistic: Business confidence remained broadly positive despite moderating from the previous quarter, according to the lat- est Business Conditions Survey, which is conducted by the state’s peak business organisation, the NSW Business Cham- ber. “Our survey of more than 1,000 NSW businesses shows that businesses remain confident about their business prospects as demonstrated by continued strength in staffing and capital expenditure decisions”, said Western NSW Business Chamber Regional Manager, Vicki Seccombe. “The NSW Business Chamber welcomes the recently announced review of the GST distri- bution system to ensure that our State isn’t punished for pursuing economic reform.
