NAPLAN Testing: The NAPLAN tests will be conducted in all schools across Austral- ia for all Year 3, 5, 7 and 9 students from May 9-11, 2017. Quad Bike Safety: The NSW Government has taken another step in a bid to drive down the number of quad bike-related inju- ries and fatalities, expanding a multi-million dollar education program. Free quad bike training and helmets are now to be offered to all farmers in regional New South Wales. It comes in addition to existing safety re- bates, which were doubled in March this year.

Council Elections: Nominations for this year’s Cabonne Council elections will close a month before the September 9 poll. Prospective candidates will be able to nominate from 6pm on 31st July 2017 after the close of rolls for eligible voters. “Forums and workshops for prospective councillors are expected to be conducted prior to the poll and Council will keep you informed when the dates are known.” May- or Ian Gosper said.

Surprise: Pam Dunford was treated to a Surprise Morning Tea on Monday morn- ing at Montrose House to celebrate her 24 years at St Vincent De Paul in Canowin- dra. Robyn Slattery is now taking over from Pam.

Grab your tickets! Kevin Bloody Wilson is coming to Canowindra Services Club this Sunday 7th May at 6pm. Tickets are $55 per person and can be purchased at the Club.

Market Success: The Make It Bake It Grow It Market held on 22 & 23 April was a huge success with 17 Stalls. Thank you to the Canowindra Creative Centre Volunteers, Stall Holders, the many people who visited us and to the Services Club Auditorium for a great venue. See you again next year.
