Imrove your grazing management at the Yeoval Prograze workshops.

Calling All Livestock Producers: The Yeoval PROGRAZE® Group is starting in early 2027, offering a series of practical, hands-on workshops designed to help beef cattle and sheep producers improve grazing management and pasture productivity. The program includes 8 half-day workshops held every four weeks, with registrations now open. For more information or to register, contact Phil Cranney on 0458 745 478 or register online https://events.humanitix.com/central-tablelands-prograze-yeoval-feb-2027

Canowindra CWA AGM: The Canowindra Branch CWA Annual General Meeting will be held on Thursday 22 October 2026 at 6.30pm at the CWA Hall 24 Blatchford Street Canowindra. All positions will be declared vacant. Membership must be current to vote. Taking on a branch position is rewarding, enjoyable and a wonderful way to make friends. CWA offers something for every woman. Cultural, international, cookery, handicraft, agriculture and environment, branch administration and more. All welcome. RSVP to current Secretary Bev Taylor, email secretary@canowindracwa.org or phone 0488 778 173.

Prepare your property for bushfire sea son: With bushfire season officially beginning on 1 October, it’s crucial to be aware of bushfire risks and take steps to protect yourselves, your homes, properties and animals. Planning for bushfires can save your life and the lives of your family and animals. Local Land Services staff are the boots on the ground support to landholders in preparing for, responding to and recovering from bushfires. For local bushfire preparation support and advice for your property, contact the team via 1300 795 299.

Arts Outwest: Tell us your Central West NSW arts, heritage and cultural news. We’re starting to create the quarterly Artspeak Local enews. To celebrate, cheer for and champion all the great creative news stories. Email your stories (pre-written is great, notes or ideas can work too, images wonderful) to: artsoutwest@csu.edu.au.

Swooping Season: Spring is the breeding season for magpies, and while most will happily go about their business, some can become protective of their nesting area while raising their young. Swooping is temporary and usually stops once the young have left the nest. The best thing we can do is give our feathered neighbours some space while they raise their young. If you find native wildlife injured or distressed, contact WIRES on 1300 094 737.

Heads up – it’s magpie swooping season!
