St Eddys Celebrate St Patrick’s Day:
Infants children at St Edward’s were busy making green jelly and mousse for St Patrick’s day activities. Waiting for the jelly to set seemed to take an eternity as the children were eager to sample their lime delights!
Good Luck Lachie! Canowindra residents are wishing Lachie Rice all the best as he represents the Bathurst Diocese at the Polding Swimming Championships at Homebush on Thursday 31st March. Lachie will be swimming in the 8 years 50m Freestyle event.
Balloon Crew and Volunteers Needed!
Canowindra Balloon Challenge are appealing for volunteers and balloon crew. Volunteering activities are varied and can suit anyone, they include helping with the gates, taking stats, selling glow wands and marshalling people and vehicles. If you’ve ever wanted to get more involved with balloons and have fun enjoying the outdoors then balloon crew is for you. Community Heritage Grants: Organisations that need support to preserve and
conserve important Australian heritage are invited to apply for a community heritage
grant. The programme provides grants of up to $15,000 to help local organisations
preserve Australia’s history. Calare is home to some of the oldest towns in regional Australia that form an important part of our national story. The 2016 Community Heritage
Grants Program applications close 9th May and can be submitted online at www.nla.gov.au/chg.
Ronald McDonald House Dinner: On the 9th April the Men of League Foundations and Ronald McDonald House Orange (RMHO) Sportsman’s dinner will be held in Orange. Since opening last April, RMHO has had 77 families. The sportsman’s dinner promises to be a fabulous evening where guests can mingle with Bob McCarthy, former international rugby
league icon, Mike Cleary a dual code international, John Peard and Stuart Raper a former NRL Player. If you would like to attend the dinner at the Orange Ex-Services Club on 9th April at 7pm and rub shoulders with rugby elite, please call 6362 2666. Tickets are $75pp and include dinner and entertainment.
Dog Danger: Reports of dogs roaming around Rodd Street and other parts of Canowindra have acted as a reminder for people to be vigilant when it comes to pets. Please remember to close your gates when leaving the property if you have pets or if you don’t have a secure yard keep dogs in a kennel, inside or on a long lead. Keeping pets secure keeps them and other
animals safe.
Bamboozled! Mr Bamboozle was back trying to hoodwink and dupe Canowindra Pre-schoolers last Thursday. The free show was attended by children and parents
at the preschool and included magic, fun and lots of laughter.
