Garden Club Donation: Last month the Canowindra Garden Club presented the lo­cal Canowindra Hospital Auxiliary with a cheque for $1,000. This money was raised at the Open Gardens at Noojee Lea during the Balloon Festival. The Hospital Auxiliary would like to thank Mr and Mrs Charles Curran and the Garden Club for their gen­erosity. In 2026 The Garden Club will once again be hosting the Open Gardens at Noojee Lea on 16 April 2026 as part of the Balloon Festival program, with funds being raised for Canowindra Hospital Auxiliary.

150 Years Of Public Education Update: The The Canowindra Historical Society, street stall this Friday, 12 September has been cancelled. The “Come Home” week­end planned for 31 October, and 1-2 No­vember will be the main celebration days for both the Public and High Schools. Details available at either school or on the Canowindra Historical Society and Mu­seum Inc. website. Only the street stall on 12th September is cancelled.

Australia Day Nominations Open: Do you know a remarkable local or group in your community? The 2026 Australia Day nominations are open until 5pm on Sunday, 12 October 2025. Nominations are open for the following categories:

• Citizen of the Year

• Young Citizen of the Year

• Community Group of the Year

• Cabonne Environmental Champion

Man Power Needed: The Canowindra Golf Club course is maintained by a team of great volunteers, but next Tuesday 16 September they need some extra help cor­ing the greens, all help would be greatly appreciated. If you can lend a hand, head along to the Golfie at 8am. For more infor­mation call 6433 1342.

2025 Debutante Ball: Last Saturday night Canowindra High P&C held their annual Debutante Ball. The Debs and their part­ners danced beautifully and looked fabu­lous. Thanks are extended to all of the Canowindra High School teachers and parents who helped coordinate the night.
