Congratulations to Mary Finn on 48 years of service to Vinnies.
Vinnies Lifetime Service Award for Mary Finn: On Monday 19 May Mary Finn was surprised with the presentation of a Lifetime Service Award for 48 year of service to the local Vinnies store. Mary was on board when the first Canowindra store opened in 1977 manned by a team of “Mini Vinnies” volunteers, students from St Edwards School. Mary was one of the supervisors and mentor for the students. She has since been involved with both the shop and Conference, the welfare arm of Vinnies and is a much valued member of the team.
Wrap With Love Monthly Report: Well done everyone,11 wraps have been completed and are on their way to headquarters. I would like to thank Mary for her beautiful wraps and wish her a lovely tour of inland Australia. We will miss her for the 2 months she will be away.
Our numbers were a little down this month but we really needed the rain. We had a funny meeting with a few of our knitters trying their hand at crochet and having trouble on the corners of their squares causing many laughs by the knitters. We enjoyed a delicious lunch of pumpkin soup – thanks Tommy.
I still would like to see a few more knitters attending on the fourth Thursday of each month. If you can knit a 10cm square, come along and join us as we knit, chat and enjoy morning tea and lunch. It is great fun. Thanks again everyone.
