Noojee Lea Homestead Open Garden: The Canowindra Garden Club invite you to join them on Thursday 1 May, 10am – 3pm, at Noojee Lea Homestead, 422 Fish Fossil Drive, Canowindra for a rare opportunity to visit the beautiful gardens and grounds surrounding one of the most historic and prestigious properties in the area.
Enjoy the ‘secret’ Walled Garden designed by Paul Bangay, one of Australia’s most celebrated garden designers, and meet Kath Spice, Noojee Lea Head Gardener. Learn how to make gorgeous floral bouquets with local florist, Dierdre Keady at one of the demonstrations being held at 11am and 2pm, and visit The Potting Shed plant stall with Janelle Pearce.
Light refreshments will be available from the coffee cart and cake stall or sit under a shady tree and enyoy a BYO picnic. The cost is just $5 per person and tickets are available from www.123tix.com.au or at the gate (cash only). All proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to the Canowindra Hospital Auxualiary.
Canowindra History Museum Special Opening Times In April And Early May: The museum at 117 Gaskill Street will be open on the next three Saturdays, including Easter Saturday 19 April, 10am to 1pm. The Museum will also be open after the ceremonies on Anzac Day, Friday 25 April from ap
prox midday to 3pm. During Balloon week, the Museum will be open on Saturday 26 April, Wednesday 30 April, Thursday 1 May, Friday 2 May and Saturday 3 May, from 10am to 3pm. Entry to the museum is free but a donation is appreciated.
Voting Before Polling Day: The early voting centres closest to Canowindra are located in Cowra and Orange.
• Cowra Uniting Church: 75A Darling Street, Cowra will open for early voting on Saturday 26 April, then from Monday 28 April – Friday 2 May.
• St Barnabas Parish Hall: 381 Summer Street, Orange and 24 Telopea Way, Orange. Opening from Tuesday 22 April – Thursday 24 April, Saturday 26 April and Monday 28 April – Friday 2 May.
All early voting centres will be closed on Easter Monday, 21 April, and Anzac Day, Friday 25 April.
